This warm and comfortable bed and breakfast was built over a century ago as a grand summer cottage overlooking the ocean. The charm of an English seashore home is captured in furnishings of mahogany, antiques, traditional wicker and hand-painted pieces. Featherbeds, fireplaces, gourmet breakfasts, Jacuzzis for two, and beautiful ocean views provide the perfect setting for a romantic getaway in the quiet season. Breakfast starts with freshly ground coffee, tea, juices, homemade muffins, and seasonal fresh fruit followed by a hot entree, such as Belgian waffles with a warm berry sauce, pears and cream-topped French toast, or a fluffy vegetable and cheese omelet with seasoned potatoes, and fresh bagels. In the afternoon, guests are welcome to enjoy a cool drink of lemonade or a cup of herbal tea and freshly baked cookies warm from the oven, while relaxing on the wraparound front porch overlooking the ocean. The beach is just 200 feet from the inn. Guests are provided with complimentary beach passes, chairs, towels, umbrellas, bicycles, and private parking. Each room at the Atlantic View Inn is uniquely decorated. All rooms have comfortable featherbeds, televisions and VCRs. Some rooms have a fireplace, mahogany furniture, wing back chair, antique Oriental carpet, private balcony with an ocean view, and a Jacuzzi for two. Room amenities include high speed Internet access, bathrobes, air-conditioning, alarm clock radio, and ceiling fan. 20 Woodland Avenue, Avon By the Sea, NJ - From Garden State Parkway: Take Garden State Parkway to Exit 98. Follow signs to 138 East (same as 195 East). Continue east approximately 2-1/2 miles and bear left as road divides onto HWY 35 north. Continue around bay, through Belmar, and turn right at fourth or fifth traffic light (8th or 10th Avenue). Follow the Avenue until it ends on Ocean Avenue. Turn left on Ocean Avenue and continue North, over the inlet bridge, into Avon by the Sea. After the bridge. The inn is the fifth house on the left.
