Sandy Hook Cottage is tucked on a hillside beneath the historic Twin Lights Lighthouse overlooking Sandy Hook Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage is within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, beaches, marinas, and the SeaStreak Ferry to Manhattan. Situated at the entrance to Sandy Hook Gateway National Recreation area, home of Gunnison Beach, a popular East Coast clothing optional beach, guests will have access to both bay and ocean beaches, and the nation's oldest lighthouse, just a five-minute drive away.
Sandy Hook Cottage offers a relaxed, casual beach atmosphere reminiscent of Key West. This three-bedroom English-style cottage was built in 1933 as a summer residence. Guests can enjoy beautiful sunrises over Sandy Hook, rejuvenate under the stars in the eight-seat outdoor hot tub, or relax in front of the fireplace.
Guests will enjoy a complimentary hot and cold continental plus breakfast buffet. In the afternoon, fresh-baked cookies, cakes, fruit and iced tea are available. Wine and cheese are served each evening. Out back, there is an outdoor deck and patio with lounge chairs, and tables and chairs with market umbrellas with views of the bay and ocean. Complimentary beach passes to Sandy Hook in season, daily housekeeping, and off-street parking are provided. Fax service and laundry service available at an additional cost.
Guestrooms feature a mini-fridge with complimentary beverages, bedtime snacks, queen beds, air conditioning, ceiling fans, radio/CD player, Wifi or telephone with data port for Internet access, reading material and digital cable television. After approximately 13 miles, make a U-turn under Highlands Bridge.
Do not cross the bridge.
Head back onto Route 36 West.
The cottage is the 5th building on the right.
Make a U-turn to the cottage.
